Solving problems in black, brown, and white
This work examines the ability of African Americans, Whites, and other peoples of color who joined forces in the mid-twentieth century to confront the atrocities of racism and economic inequality. This is essay is inspired by Robert E. Lee III, aka Bobbie Lee, Da Mayor of Fifth Ward and Myles Horton, founder of the Highlander Folk School in Grundy, Tennessee.
Invited to a neighborhood meeting by the Young Lords and the Young Patriots (some former members of the Ku Klux Klan) to help strategize for the welfare of the community, Lee found himself starting a Rainbow Coalition.
